They are a bit frayed, a dull grey colour caused by years of saliva, and they don’t smell very nice. But although I am ruthlessly jettisoning many of our belongings and enjoying the fact that and our house is finally starting to look a little less full, some things are so precious they will never be thrown out. This collection of fiercly loved friends will be circumnavigating the globe with us, and hopefully returning safely home again.

I love well loved cuddly friends, when i have sniff of 5year old’s pooh bear it always makes me think of her and how well loved pooh bear is. x

Mini has some very loved and taken everywear bears
oh yes, you can’t travel without them. No way. First thing to be packed.
We once left hers at the airport at the lunch table. We’d already checked in, no return. Luckily the staff were amazing and just before take off, someone came into the plane with the beloved Spencer bear. The joy, surprise, happiness were unspeakable.
We once left Miffy at nursery on the Friday before half term. He sobbed and sobbed and said “Mummy I love Miffy as much as I love you.” I almost cried.
awww! They’re so cute 🙂 Cuddly toys are the best. I can’t bring myself to throw any of mine out!
I’ve still got my teddy I was given as a baby.
They may not smell nice but to your children then smell of love.
The 5 year old has a blanket and the 4 year old a stuffed toy. They smell minging but they still bury their heads in them and inhale deeply.
And woe betide anyone who dares to wash them.
I still have my Floppy Eared Rabbit that I had since birth and that bunny really does mean a lot to me – so much so that he’s undergone a few operations. I must say that your children’s cuddly ones look in much better shape than he does!
They’re still quite young. And we’ve lost a LOT of those scraggly rabbits.
fingers crossed they make it all the way home again.
I don’t like to think about bedtimes if they don’t.
My 17 yr old daughter still has her favourite cuddly toy from when she was a baby. It’s barely in one piece but she loves it nonetheless. Whenever I see her with it, I can’t help but smile and be reminded of how she’s still just a young girl. Very good interpretation of the prompt! BTW those flickr photos to the right are making me giggle.

You can buy them in pairs in a local shop. I think we’ve had about 12.
Awww, so cute. My littlest one left his lovey on the train in to Edinburgh last summer. Poor thing cried for a day until my auntie replaced it with another.
It’s tragic isn’t it? They are not just teddies, they’re real people.

Oh bless! They do get so attached don’t they? I actually washed Eleanor’s rabbit the other day – it was just so euugh. Stupidly, I did it before nap time! Duh!

Of course. I don’t fancy my chances of getting the children to sleep in strange hotel rooms without them.
I love that photo! When we go sailing each child take s acuddly, we did have to make life jackets for them all one year!

At the doorway of every hotel room we left one of us adults shouted: ‘Children? Blankets?”Check both’ replied the other. Those were the only things we could not lose, even passports can be replaced. Remember that when the worst happens.
All 4 made it 30,000 miles and now are happily sharing a spanish bedroom. Phew!
