A short list of things I’ve learnt this week

26 Mar

1) Sandflies don’t bit you, they wee on you, which dissolves your flesh. They then suck it up leaving an intensely itchy spot. Gak.

2) Smoko is morning tea which is elevenses. Smoking is not obligatory. Orange squash and a slice of cake will do.

3) Apparently, dolphins feel like a peeled hard boiled egg.

4) Aboriginals count thus: 1, 2, 3, many. Makes maths lessons easy.

5) Murchison station in Kalbarri, WA, exports goats to Arabia. This is very profitable.

6) Rashies (those tops you wear when swimming, to avoid sunburn) only last a month or two when you wear them every day. The children are on their third lot.

7) Australia is a bloody big place.

I guess any clothes only last a short while when you are constanly wearing them, at least they never grow out of things, must better for landfill

Given point (1) about the sandflies, it’s a good job you caved in to the fly nets! They sound awful!
Glad that you are all still enjoying yourselves, even if parts of Aus are shut. It is a marvellous adventure.

Number 1 is just horrific. I am adding that to the list of things I learned this week I wish I hadn’t!
