Well actually, it was tied up outside the pub. Did they choose the White Horse Inn on purpose?
The UK has many local breweries, such as Harveys in Lewes, the Black Sheep in Masham, North Yorks or our local Battersea Brewery each making their own distinctive beers with names like Bombadier, Cheddar Potholer, and Power Station Porter. The pubs that sell these beers are a far cry from bland, generic chain pubs, and are really worth searching out. They are usually members of the Campaign for Real Ale.
On our recent holiday staying in Westleton, Suffolk, we tried a few of the pubs owned by the local brewery, Adnams of Southwold. Each of the pubs had its own character, from the light and airy Crown in Westleton, with it’s lovely garden and delicious food, to the cosy Lord Nelson in Southwold, with it’s roaring log fire on a cold, rainy day, and walls covered in Nelson memorabilia.
Of course we tried out plenty of the delicious Adnams beers too!
